National Symposium on "the concept of cleaner production" Dubai, on Wednesday, 23/12/2009
in collaboration with the Regional Office of the United Nations Environment Program for Western Asia.

Cleaner production is a process applied to the environmental strategy and an integrated preventive in industry and services in order to increase the efficiency of the product and reduce the environmental and health risks. And as a preventive strategy, it seeks to address environmental problems at source. The launch of this concept by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) in 1989 and is being implemented jointly with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization. UNEDO
This concept has gained worldwide attention and wide, and stressed the United Nations and its various organizations on the importance of building as an essential input to achieve the objectives of sustainable development.
The seminar came from the Ministry's initiative in 2009, to establish the Emirates Center for Cleaner Production in the country, and most of the participants from the competent authorities on the environment and municipalities in UAE.
Symposium recommendations
Emphasize the importance of a comprehensive survey of the industrial sector in order to determine the types of industries that should be the focus of the Center in the first phase.
Emphasis on the importance of focusing on small and medium enterprises.
Emphasize the importance of cooperation among all actors in the government sector and the private sector, especially large industrial establishments , banks and investment finance, to provide support to the success of the Center's mission and enable it to achieve its objectives.
7Attention to the issue of cleaner production technology transfer to industrial facilities in small and medium enterprises.
8Participants urged the continuation of coordination and cooperation with the Regional Office of the United Nations in Western Asia for the technical support of the National Center for Cleaner Production, United Arab Emirates.
Emphasis on the importance of cooperation with similar centers in the Arab world through a global network of cleaner production centers.
