H.E. Dr. Rashid Ahmed Bin Fahad , Minister of environment and Water inspected the Northern Agricultural Region of the Ministry and its units and then met growers during his round . 

 He listened to their views and spotted the problems that face them. During the meeting , Dr. Rashid  talked about the Ministry's policy of increasing production per unit area and using hydroponics system which saves 70% of irrigation water  and increases production , one house produces 4 tons . The grower , Dr. Rashid says , could use such house three times per  growing season. The Minister visited also one of the farms that uses hydroponics and was briefed on the profits  of the  trials . He inspected also the glass house trial for drying dates .

H.E. Sultan Alwan , acting undersecretary for agricultural affairs and Mohammed Saleh Almehrizi , northern region director joined the Minister during his round in the region.
